Uses of Reversible Mould-board Plough

Soil tillage is the basic practice of farming production that includes soil structure modification using various tillage equipments. Thesoil tillage or ploughing work involves essential activities to break down, cut, and invert soil layers while reducing the clods and weeds in the field.

A reversible mould board plough is mainly used to prepare new fields or plough the lands that are left un-ploughed for a long period oftime. It makes it easy to plough the soil in fields where the soil is too hard, full of deep and strong routed unwanted plants, weeds and shrubs etc. It is used as an attachment to the tractor, pulled behind it through the fields to prepare the soil to make seedbeds.

It is also known as a two-way plough or reversible plough asit uses two sets of bottoms attached to a frame on opposite sides. One bottom for one direction and the other bottom for the other direction turns furrow slice to the right or left side of direction while running through the field as required.

We can also understand it in other words - in a reversible mb plough, all furrows can be turned towards the same side of the field by using one side of the bottom for one direction of the round and the other side of the bottom on the returning round. These two sets of the bottom are mountedin such a way that they can also be raised or lowered as per the requirement independently and even rotated along an axis.

The advantage of working on the soil using a two-way plough or reversible plough is that they neither disturb the slope of the earth norleave dead furrows or back furrows in the centre of the field. The reversible mb plough is popular tillage equipment used worldwide in agriculture as itsdesign makes them energy efficient in different operating conditions.
